PEACEFUL ATOM
7 INTERACTIVE AREAS
22 OMNI SHAPES SCREENS WITH 8 CONTROLLERS
At the beginning of the exposition, Rosatom employees met Polivizor, an air screen. The 3D logo of the event - a rotating three-dimensional hexagon with the inscription TVEL 25 YEARS – showed the way to the exhibition space. The front part of the exposition consisted of pillars with niches covered with transparent screens. At the top were two holo-fans with logos floating in the air. Behind the transparent screens were a fuel element (TVEL) and a centrifuge. Content on the screens was controlled using eyes, not hands. A visitor just needed to “catch” the point with their eyes, and an animated video appeared on the screen. There were four more interactive activities inside the exposition. An interactive photo zone “caught” a person in the frame with a Kinect camera. Using hand movements, they could choose one of three backgrounds, take a fuel element or a centrifuge in their hand and take a photo. The photos were immediately printed and sent to their e-mails. Omnishapes projection screens used a non-standard shaped construction to demonstrate the business areas of the TVEL department.
The videos were launched using phygital technologies: nine 3D figures with sensors inside were installed on a rack in front of the screens. When a person picked up one of them, the corresponding video was launched on the screen. There was a kinetic wall consisting of servo-drive rods with LEDs on their ends. In a static state, the wall showed 25. When the Kinect camera caught a person in the activation field, the number was transformed into a pattern repeating their silhouette. When a person moved in front of the wall, the pattern changed, repeating his movements. The last feature of the exposition was an interactive timeline. The content could be switched using the Surface Dial controller. By turning the controller, one could learn about the milestones in the company's development, take a trip through the chronology of nuclear fuel creation and study the map of the sales geography.
